Dead Kennedys spent the '80s challenging hypocrisy wherever they saw it, and as shown by their second album, Plastic Surgery Disasters (and its companion EP, In God We Trust, Inc.), their effectiveness lay in both frontman Jello Biafra’s acidic wit and the group’s twisty punk songwriting."Moon Over Marin" is a smackdown of California's right wing set to mutant surf punk, while "Terminal.

Oct 11,  · Despite reuniting without Jello, and by (sort of) betraying their ideals, the Dead Kennedys have never been the same. For me, this album is at the peak of their creativity - their "golden era", if you will. The songs on Plastic Surgery Disasters are /5(94).

Biafra was at his peak here, and some of these songs are laugh out loud. "Riot" is timeless and spot on. After this record Biafra became less clever, less funny, and more /5(95).

Following up the success of their brilliant debut Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables, the Dead Kennedys returned with the excellent EP In God We Trust, Inc. and full-length Plastic Surgery Disasters in and '82 respectively. This reissue set combines the two and finds the Dead Kennedys doing exactly what they do best; railing against the chaos of the world via an assortment of rollicking.

The Dead Kennedys seconded album Plastic Surgery Disasters is personally my favorite Dead Kennnedys album. I just think its all around put together better than the others (even though I've only listened to a few other songs off their other albums)/5(93).
